Abbas: new government to commit by peace
His remarks came during a meeting with Israel's opposition leader Tzipi Livni as well as another member of her Kadima party, reported Palestinian Wafa news agency.
The meeting which took place in Jordan discussed Abbas' plans to reconcile with Gaza's Hamas rulers and form a unity government to administer Gaza and the West Bank, which is now ruled by Abbas' Fatah party.
"The government to be formed of technocrats and independents will be committed to my principles, especially the two-state solution, the renounce of violence and the acceptance of signed ( peace) deals," Wafa quoted Abbas as saying.
Last week, Abbas met Hamas' leader Khaled Mashaal in Egypt's capital Cairo to implement an Egyptian-brokered reconciliation agreement. The two parties said they had agreed to be partners.
Israel considers Hamas as a terrorist organization for refusing to recognize the Jewish state; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
