About 100 countries expected to partake in EXPO-2017 - BIE Secretary General

"The theme of the exhibition "Future Energy" is of paramount importance for many countries. It is difficult to name any particular number of the exhibition participants now. Approximately, the number is 100 countries. This is a good number," Vicente Loscertales said.
However, he said that the number of participants would probably increase as long as 192 countries are the members of the UN, according to Kazakh Prime Minister's site.
According to the BIE Secretary General, the main aspect is quality of the exhibition organization. "We are not trying to break records in terms of the number of participants. We strive to ensure high quality of pavilions. We don't want the visitors to be disappointed with the exhibition. Quality is the number one criterion for us," Mr. Loscertales resumed.
Speaking of the role of our country in organizing the EXPO, the head of the BIE said: "Kazakhstan brings a new spirit, it demonstrates development of a young country that has resources and realizes its responsibility before the other countries. The theme of the exhibition proves the country's commitment to building green economy and exchanging ideas in this sphere with the other countries."
