About 1000 foreign observers expected to monitor presidential elections in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - About 1000 foreign observers are expected to monitor the election process in Kazakhstan, member of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Marat Sarsembayev informed.
According to him, head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission Cornelia Jonker informed that it was planned to send about 400 observers to Kazakhstan. The CIS mission also plans to send about 400 observers.
Besides, the Central Election Commission receives applications for participation in the monitoring process from the other foreign observers.
"We expect the number of foreign observers will be about one thousand," M. Sarsembayev said.
As earlier reported, 181 observers from international organizations and foreign countries are accredited so far.
