About 80% of Asia-Europe land transit transportations run through Kazakhstan

About 80% of land transit transportations between Asia and Europe run through the territory of Kazakhstan. Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov said it at the CIS Ministerial Cooperation Conference on Food Security Ensuring, Kazinform News Agency reports.

“Kazakhstan has already become a reliable link through which about 80% of land transit transportations run between Asia and Europe,” he said.

The government of Kazakhstan pays special attention to the agro-industrial sector’s development, he noted.

“We have formed a pool of 883 investment projects to the amount of 6 billion US dollars for the nearest five years aimed at boosting import substitution and development of export potential. In this regard, our countries need to develop cooperation in mutual investments, create joint transborder projects, consortiums, build production chains, shape a high-quality transport, logistics infrastructure and industrial cooperation,” Aidarbek Saparov said.

The minister emphasized that Kazakhstan creates favorable conditions for foreign investors. The existing legislative base of agrarian sector is attractive for investors and aims at protection and support of entrepreneurship.

“Apart from financial support, foreign investors enjoy various sectoral benefits and preferences such as exemption from taxes. Investors in Kazakhstan may directly enter into investment agreements with the government to implement large projects. One of the promising areas for investments is manufacture of high-value added products,” Saparov explained adding that production and processing of meat and milk, sugar beet, vegetable oil and poultry meat are of interest for investors.
