Above 1,000 died in road traffic accidents in Kazakhstan since January
ASTANA. KAZINFORM Road accidents have claimed the lives of above 1,000 people in Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2014, legal statistics committee of the Kazakh Prosecutor General's Office said.
1,015 died in traffic accidents this year against 1,167 in 2013 while 10,911 were injured against 10,837 hurt in 2013.
Most deaths are recorded in the Almaty region up to 198 against 206 for the same period of 2013. 159 people were killed in South Kazakhstan, 90 in the Zhambyl region, 60 in Almaty for the period under review.
8,608 road accidents were registered for the past six months the countrywide against 8,462 for the analogous period of the previous year.
