Above 6 000 people visited exhibition about the life of Napoleon Bonaparte in Astana

Within the framework of cross seasons France-Kazakhstan an exhibition "Napoleon. Life. Legend" was opened on December 19 in the Palace of Independence. About 6 000 people have already visited it.
The exhibition is organized by the Union of National Museums and the Grand Palais, as well as Napoleon Fund at the initiative of the French Embassy in Kazakhstan and supported by Astana city akimat. According to organizers, the event is of symbolic character, the exhibition will be the final event of the French season in Kazakhstan, and it will be dedicated to the personality and activity of Napoleon, the great historical figure of France and Europe, Kazinform has learnt from astana.kz. Therefore, in the end of the French cultural season the organizers decided to presents true treasures of cultural heritage for Kazakh audience, paying a tribute to Napoleon Bonaparte. About 300 showpieces, art works, manuscripts and furniture of Napoleon epoch will be collected in Astana for the first time in order to tell about rich creative, scientific and political life, and major changes of the civil society under Napoleon. The exposition is divided into 9 sections: "Born in Ajaccio, officer of royal troops", "French revolution", "Napoleon Bonaparte, Revolution general", "The Head of the state", "Peacemaker and reformer", "Emperor family", "Commander", "Exile and death", and "The birth of the legend". It will run until February 23.
