Air Astana can ensure passenger flow over 20 thousand people between Astana and Paris - P. Foster

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Air Astana Company can ensure the passenger flow exceeding 20 thousand tourists between Astana and Paris, it stated at the press conference on launching of the direct flight between Astana and Paris with the participation of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Francis Etienne and president of Air Astana JSC Peter Foster.

According to the president of Air Astana Company, the company not flying to Paris before was a mistake of the company, which is now corrected. Since opening of the flight, the tourist flow between the two countries will be increased. Moreover, the airport of Astana is a hub that provides the transfer services for the passenger from the other Asian countries.

"We plan to ensure the passenger traffic between Astana and Paris at the level of 20 thousand people. Another important and pleasant fact that there is a great passenger flow from China to Paris going through Kazakhstan," P. Foster told.

The French Ambassador noted that the French side is fully satisfied with the fact the Astana-Paris route is represented only by Air Astana.

Besides, the Astana-Paris-Astana route is not the only direction Air Astana plans to develop. There are plans on expanding the geography of the flights, especially taking into account the upcoming international events and strategic plans in general.

"Given the EXPO-2017 scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan and the plans on further development of Kazakhstan we plan to open the following flights in the nearest future: the Astana-Tbilisi and Astana-Seoul flights. Besides, we plan to open one of the most important flights to Tokyo by 2017," P. Foster noted.
