He was born near Turkestan. His father Makhmud was a poet. Akhmed was fluent in Arabic language. Some references note that Akhmed was blind from the birth, but other ones refute this data: ?How can a blind person so poetically praise the beauty of nature? How he could read all Oriental literature?? Most likely, the poet lost his sight later. He was honorable and authoritative person of his time. He is a follower of Khwaja Ahmad Yasavi.
