Akhmetov urges to get ready for floods

ASTANA. February 19. KAZINFORM Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov gave instructions to prepare for possible flooding in the regions of the country at today's Government meeting.

"Special attention should be given to the beds of rivers, irrigation ditches, building dams, and safety of road infrastructure, power and communication lines. It is necessary to gather special equipment to prepare the necessary reserve of aggregates, especially near flood hazard areas, and of course to raise public awareness," the head of the Government said.

According to him, the situation is under control, but that is no reason to relax.
