Akmola region’s trade up 27% year-over-year in 2023

Kazakhstan’s Akmola region boasted 2 billion US dollars worth of trade turnover (KZT950.5bn) in 2023, which is 27% more than a year before, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

According to governor Marat Akhmetzhanov, last year, Akmola region saw a 23fold year-over-year growth in its trade with France, hitting $72mln (KZT34.2bn). The region’s trade with Germany rose by almost 5fold to $181mln or KZT86bn.

Today, our region is among major grain-growing regions of the country, said Akhmetzhanov during the Jana Dala / Green Day 2024 international exhibition, highlighting the achievement of the region, the entire country, in the agro-industrial complex.

As the governor said, Akmola region is responsible for 30% of the country’s total poultry production, 16% of chicken eggs, as well as the region leads the country in food production.

The region eyes implementation of over 79 major investment projects in the agro-industrial complex to the total tune of up to 130 billion tenge in the future.
