Aktobe, E Kazakhstan regions incur deficit of cereal seeds: Kurishbayev

ASTANA. March 10. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Aktobe and East Kazakhstan regions suffered from a drought incur a deficit of cereal seeds this year. Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Akhylbek Kurishbayev has made it public at the session of the Government today.

According to him, these regions lack of 50 thousand tons of seeds. However, the Minister noted that the decision on allocation of seeds from the state seeds reserve and use of other abilities of the Food Contract Corporation has been already made.

According to the data of the local administration, totally 98% of farms are provided with cereal seeds. "Work on seed quality control is underway in the country. To date 86.4% of seeds were examined. 99% of this quantity meets the sowing quality standards," the Minister said.
