Aktobe eyes up to KZT1.2trl in development of multimodal transport hub
Askhat Shakharov, governor of Aktobe region, reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the social and economic development of the region, Akorda reports.

According to governor Shakharov, Aktobe region’s economic growth stood at 6% in 11 months of this year. The region’s industrial output was up by 4%, while the amount of foreign direct investments reached 175 million US dollars in six months of 2024.
The President was briefed that a special economic zone is set to be established to further promote the Aktobe airport as a multimodal transport hub. In this regard, over 1.2 trillion tenge of investments and creation of 5,000 jobs are envisaged.
The governor also informed about the investment projects underway in the region and are slated for implementation for 2025/27.
President Tokayev was presented with mock-ups of the new facilities under construction in Aktobe. Upon the President’s instruction, a drama theatre for 700 seats and a multifunctional stadium for 35,000 visitors will be built.
Earlier it was reported that the Head of Stare inspected a number of industrial facilities as well as familiarized with the activities of the social facilities in Aktobe region.
