Aktobe region reports 16% increase in salaries - governor
The average salary has risen by 16% in Aktobe region reaching 364,000 tenge, Kazinform News Agency quotes governor Askhat Shakharov as saying at a briefing today.
According to him, in 11 months of 2024, the region’s economic growth made 106%.
“Compared to the last year, the average wage has increased by 16% and reached 364,000 tenge,” he said.
Investment sector remains one of the most important areas, the governor emphasized.
He said that since the year beginning, the region has attracted 764 billion tenge of investment and launched three projects (Bolashak mine construction by ERG, exploration of the Avangard deposit by the Aktobe Copper Company, and construction of a grain storage for oil crops processing) which allowed to create thousands of new jobs.
In the near future, the region plans to implement a number of important projects, including construction of rail-welding, bitumen and concrete plants and other major productions.
According to the governor, the region plans to set up a special economic zone in the territory of Aliya Moldagulova International Airport. The SEZ will cover an area of 858 hectares and will accommodate more than 40 projects worth at least 1.2 trillion tenge. On top of that, an industrial zone is set to be opened in Khromtau single-industry town. The cost of the project is 400 billion tenge.
Earlier, it was reported that grain crops increased by 30% in Aktobe region.
