Alan Kurmangaliyev pockets silver at WTT Youth Contender Szombathely 2024 in Hungary

Kazakhstan’s Alan Kurmangaliyev grabbed a silver medal in the U19 Boys Singles finals at the WTT Youth Contender Szombathely 2024 in Hungary, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh table tennis player secured seven victories and suffered one defeat.

During the tournament, Kurmangaliyev beat Stefan Dimitrov of Bulgaria, Mael Van Dessel of Luxembourg, Tai Po-Chun of Taipei, Dragos Bujor of Romania, Mykhailo Lovha of Slovakia, Isak Alfredsson of Sweden, Lee Jungmok of the Republic of Korea.

Kurmangaliev lost to Balazs Lei of Hungary with a score 0:3 in the final bout.

It was earlier reported that Kazakhstan’s men’s epée fencing team had cruised into the quarterfinals of the Berne World Cup 2024 in Switzerland.
