Alexander Bublik upset at Davis Cup 2024

World No. 27 Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan clashed against Danish Elmer Moller (ranked 247th) in the Men’s Singles of the World Group I First Round in the Kazakh capital of Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The Kazakh tennis player managed to win the first set scoring 6:1. However, the Danish athlete defeated Bublik in two sets with a score of 6:2, 6:2.

Consequently, winning against Kazakhstan, Denmark has taken the initial lead in the competition with a score of 1-0.

The next pair are Alexander Shevchenko and August Holmgren.

The Davis Cup qualifying matches consist of four singles and one doubles match. The 12 winning nations from the World Group I ties will compete in the 2025 Davis Cup Qualifiers.
