Alexander Lukashenko to take part in OSCE summit
MINSK. November 30. KAZINFORM Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has flied to Kazakhstan on a working visit. He is set to take part in the summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which will be held in the Kazakh capital, Astana, on 1-2 December, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
The Belarusian President is scheduled to deliver a speech at the summit's plenary meeting.
The OSCE is an important forum where Belarus can discuss the most pressing security issues in the Euro-Atlantic region and promote its foreign policy within the pan-European processes. Belarus is a full-fledged member of the OSCE since 30 January 1992. When Belarus acceded to the OSCE it also signed other fundamental documents such as the 1975 Helsinki Final Act and the 1990 Charter of Paris for a New Europe. The organization plays a key role in Belarus' relations with major European nations and organizations, Kazinform cites BelTA.
