Alexander Uvarov claims weightlifting silver for Kazakhstan in Tashkent

Kazakhstani weightlifter Alexander Uvarov captured silver at the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The bronze medalist of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games Uvarov lifted a total of 343kg to grab silver in the Men’s 81kg weight class at the championships.

Another representative of Kazakhstan in the same weight class Alibek Rakhimberdy was placed 5^th at the event.

The Paris Olympic Games Qualification Event which is expected to be held through February 10 brought together more than 192 athletes from 34 countries.
