Algeria views Kazakhstan as its most important partner in Central Asia - Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf
Algeria considers Kazakhstan as its most important partner in Central Asia and intends to actively work with it. This is what Ahmed Attaf, Foreign Minister of Algeria, said at a meeting with newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan Anuarbek Akhmetov, the press service of the Kazakh MFA reported Dec 8.
During the meeting, the Kazakh Ambassador presented the copies of his credentials to the Algerian Foreign Minister, who expressed gratitude to the leadership of Kazakhstan for the efforts made to strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
“We welcome the establishment of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Algeria and the appointment of the first Resident-Ambassador, which will allow to intensify political contacts at a high level, determine priorities, and also rather reveal the full potential of trade and economic cooperation between our countries. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has repeatedly spoken about the importance of developing cooperation with the Central Asian region. We consider Kazakhstan as our most important partner in this region and intend to actively work with your country," Ahmed Attaf said.
In turn, Ambassador Akhmetov conveyed warm greetings to the head of the Algerian Foreign Ministry on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and expressed interest in intensifying contacts at the high and highest levels.
He noted the readiness of a number of Kazakh companies and government agencies to launch negotiations with Algerian partners and enter into mutually beneficial projects. The large-scale reforms initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebbun in their states open up new opportunities for entrepreneurs of both countries, create a solid basis for trade and economic exchanges and mutual investments.
In conclusion, Minister Attaf expressed warm wishes to the leadership of Kazakhstan and his counterpart, wished success to the new ambassador and confirmed his readiness to provide comprehensive support.
In mid-November, Kazinform reported that Anuarbek Akhmetov was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
