Almaty budget for 2024 to hit KZT 1.6 tn

The Almaty maslikhat deputies considered the city budget for 2024-2026. Next year the city budget will make 1.6 trillion tenge, Kazinform News Agency reports.

City mayor Yerbolat Dossayaev said that for the past 10 months, the short-term economic indicators grew by 13.1%. Economic growth is driven mainly by the manufacturing industry, trade, transport, and warehousing. 1.2 trillion tenge of capital investments was attracted into the city since the beginning of the year.

The budget of Almaty city for 2024 will make 1 trillion 624 billion tenge. 1 trillion 110 billion will be spent on the current expenses. 233 billion tenge or 14.1% will be allocated for the city development. Next year social spending will make up  44.7% of the city expenditures.

On December 5 the Head of State signed the Law of Kazakhstan “On the republican budget for 2024-2026”. 115.4 billion tenge was allocated for the city of Almaty. 93.6 billion tenge will be channeled for specific-purpose transfers for the development, and 21.8 billion tenge for current targeted transfers.
