Almaty celebrates Sports Day (PHOTO)

ALMATY. KAZINFORM Almaty started celebrating the Sports Day with morning exercises involving about 2,000 people.Pupils of the specialized children and youth spots school of the Olympic reserve staged an exhibition performance.

8 outdoor sports platforms around the city hail all those willing to participate in national sports events, also arm-wrestling, tennis and kettlelbell lifting. Tomorrow, the holiday will be marked at the Medeu high-mountain sports complex and Shymbulak ski resort. The event is organized by the executive directorate of the organizing committee of the XXVIII World Winter Universiade 2017 and Almaty akimat. The Sports Day is celebrated in Kazakhstan on third Sunday of August.
