Almaty city hosts Great Steppe Games Festival

The Uly Dala Oiyndary (The Great Steppe Games) Festival held in Almaty brought together over 500 participants, Kazinform Agency learnt from the city mayor’s press service.

They competed in kokpar, audaryspak, tenge ilu, zhamby atu, asyk atu, togyzkumalak, qazaq kuresi, and baige national games. The total prize money made 5 million tenge.

Besides, the fair of traditional crafts, arm-wrestling and togyzkumalak tournaments were held as part of the festival.

The Otyrar sazy and national ensemble Dombyra Trio performed there.
