Almaty high school student won XXIII APMO and Silk Way X International Mathematical Olympiad
The awarding ceremony took place in Almaty today.
The young mathematicians from Kazakhstan showed the best results following the competitions which brought together the teams from 35 countries of the world. The first place was taken by Kazakhstanis M. Zhanbolatuly, Saltanat Kadyrkhanova and Andrey Droba and a Tajik student Elmurat Husrabi. Besides, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, the olympiads attracted the students from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
In whole, 150 students gifted in mathematics participated in both olympiads which were organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and Daryn Republican Scientific Practical Centre.
As earlier reported, the goal of these intellectual competitions is creation of conditions for identification and support of children gifted in mathematics, development of international education and scientific ties among the participating states.
