Almaty holds forum on Turkic World

ALMATY. November 12. KAZINFORM. /Serik Koibagarov/ International scientific-practical conference entitled "Actual Issues of Turkic World" organized by the Turkic Speaking Peoples' Culture Fund has started its work in Almaty today.

Its purpose is to raise the problem of language, history, socio-cultural and socio-political development of Turkic speaking people in the light of spiritual and cultural consolidation. The scholars will discuss the issues concerning the unity of the Turkic world amid globalization and world crisis. Special attention will be paid to the issues of further development of interethnic and interconfessional dialogue and strengthening of peace and accord in Kazakhstan.

The conference is devoted to the initiatives on strengthening of unity of the Turkic speaking states in Central Asia advanced by the Kazakh President during the summit in Azerbaijan.

Representatives of the TURKSOI, national cultural centers, higher educational institutions of Russia, Turkey, China, Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other states arrived in Almaty to take part in the forum.
