Almaty hosts regional conference on education for sustainable development

ALMATY. November 18. KAZINFORM /Seik Koibagarov/   The 8th Central Asian Conference on education for sustainable  development has kicked off in Almaty. The conferense is organized by the Regional Environment Center of Central Asia (RECCA) with financial support of the European Union and cooperation with the ministries for environment of Central Asian region and UNESCO Cluster Office.

The purpose is to form the basis of promotion of the stable development intitiatives and the principles of education for sustainable development in Central Asia, enhancement of the national plan development in the countries of the region as well as promotion of obligation fulfillment on the Strategy of the Economic Commission for Europe.

The results of national seminars on harmonization of legislation, state standards and programs held by the RECCA will be presented at the conference. Besides, the participants will discuss the implementation process of the UN Decade on formation for stable development in the region, preparation to reporting requirements of the countries on the UN Strategy of the Economic Commission for Europe.

The conference will be ended on November, 20.
