Almaty paid tribute to participants of 1986 December events

ALMATY. December 17. KAZINFORM /Berik Bekmurzayev/ A flowers-laying ceremony to the Monument of Independence has been held in Almaty in honor of the 20th anniversary of independence and 25th anniversary of the December events.

Representatives of political parties, young and nongovernmental organizations, local executive bodies as well as public figures participated in it.

"Our strength lies in unity. The events occurred 25 years ago confirmed this," participant of the events Khassen Kozhakhmet said.
