Almaty region starts construction of 53 new schools for 54,600 seats
A large-scale school construction program began in Almaty region as part of the Comfortable School national project. 53 new schools for 54,600 seats will be built in five districts and the town of Kunayev, Kazinform News Agency cites the governor’s press service.
26 schools for 24,900 seats are being built. Akimat allocated 1.9 billion tenge for the project engineering and 5.9 billion tenge for the construction of infrastructure and utilities for 53 schools. 26 projects received approval from a commission of experts.
It is expected to start construction of 27 new schools for 29,700 pupils in 2024-2025. School design specifications and estimates were submitted for expert evaluation.

It will help provide comfortable conditions for pupils and solve the three-shift schooling problem. We are confident this project will make a significant contribution to the development of education in our region, deputy governor of Almaty region Nurzhan Kudaibergenov said.
