Almaty to be ready 100 percent for Asian Games by end of December - Serik Seidumanov

ALMATY. November 19. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ Almaty will be ready 100 percent for the Asian Games by the end of December. Deputy Mayor of Almaty Serik Seidumanov said it during the press conference 'Aziada-2011 - business opportunities'.

According to him the city will be fully prepared for hosting the Asian Games. The readiness of sports facilities is now 95-98 percent, by December all of them will have been ready 100 percent. Test competitions are scheduled for that period of time. It was also noted that on December 12 Almaty was going to receive the Torch Relay which is also a large-scale event. January 15 is the first day for sports teams to come from 24 participating countries because sportsmen will need to come through the process of adaptation and acclimatization.

'We have full information, what sportsmen, referees, equipment will come to our country, what hotels we will accommodate them in, what events we have to hold therefore we are very confidently finishing all the preparation', S. Seidumanov said.
