Almaty to intensify efforts to promote bid to host Olympiad 2022

ALMATY. KAZINFORM Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov and head of Kazakh Agency for Sports and Physical Education Tastanbek Yessentayev co-chaired today a meeting of the working group to promote Almaty bid to host the XXIV Winter Olympic Games 2022, the city administration's press service said.

As stated there, Kazakhstan citizens voice support to hosting the Olympic Games in Almaty. As the Public Opinion Bureau's survey says the overwhelming majority of Kazakhstanis spoke in favour of the Olympiad. The meeting also addressed the issues concerning the foundation of the organizing committee and corporate fund.

Heads of state and private sports facilities took part in the sitting. All agreed that sports facilities should meet the FISU and IOC standards.
