Almost 4,000 Kazakhstanis apply for seasonal work on British farms in H1 2023

Almost 4,000 Kazakhstanis have applied for a British visa for seasonal works on the country’s farms and agricultural units in the first half of 2023, Kazinform News Agency reports via Protenge Telegram channel.

For comparison, in 2019 there were only four applications from Kazakhstan. Since then, the number has been growing at an exponential rate.

According to the official statistics from the British Embassy in Kazakhstan, 11 applications were registered in 2020, 402 – in 2021 and 2,711 – in 2022.

In the first half of 2023, the number of Kazakhstani nationals willing to work at the British farms reached 3,994.

As Protenge Telegram channel notes, by performing low-paid work in Great Britain, the Kazakh nationals can earn about 1 million tenge per month, while the average monthly salary in Kazakhstan is 365,000 tenge.
