Almost 50mln fish juveniles rescued in Atyrau region in June

As many as 49,900 fish juveniles were rescued from waterbodies of Atyrau region last month. They are released now into the Zhayik river, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the Ural-Caspian Interregional Basin Inspection, more than 520,000 fries were rescued from Saryozek canal in the territory of Beibarys village of Makhambet district. The fries got into the canal during the spring flood. In June, water level in Zhaiyk River stabilized, while the fries got stuck in the canal.

The rescue of the fish juveniles is ongoing.

The average weight of the rescued fish juveniles is 12-14 grams. These are mostly common carps, breams, pikeperches, catfish and small crucian carps. More than 49,920 fish juveniles were rescued from the waterbodies of Atyrau region, including 39,900 - in Kurmangazy district, 8,500 - in Inder district, 1,520,000 – in Makhambet district, and 35,500 – in the city of Atyrau. All of them were released into Zhaiyk River.

Earlier, Kazinform reported that abnormal heat in Atyrau region posed a threat of mass extinction of fish in a canal near the village of Kyzylzhar. Later, 100,000 fish juveniles were rescued from Saryozek canal in Beibarys village of Makhambet district.
