Almost a quarter of business projects in Kazakhstan run by women -

ASTANA. March 11. KAZINFORM At present, the number of women-run projects under the program "Business Road Map - 2020" is 22% per 2700 projects, Chairwoman of Entrepreneurship Development Fund "Damu" Lyazzat Ibragimova announced at a briefing in the Central Communications Service on Monday.

"At the beginning of 2010 the number of women - leaders of the projects of the Business Road Map-2020 was 10%. Currently their number is 22% per 2700 projects," Ibragimova said.

She noted that increasing the number of women entrepreneurs to 40% is among the priorities of the Fund.

Thus, in the framework of the development of women's entrepreneurship the Fund is implementing the following measures: completely free education, opening of regional centers of competence development of entrepreneurs and direct financial support.

It should be noted that of 33 thousand people who were trained under the program "Business Advisor" in the past three years almost 60% are classified as rural women.

In addition, as of January 2013, 206 women have been trained under the program of training top management of small and medium-sized businesses, while the total number of participants was 420.
