Alykul Osmonov House-Museum inaugurated in Bishkek after restoration
The House-Museum of famous Kyrgyz poet, playwright and translator Alykul Osmonov has been inaugurated in Bishkek after major repairs, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The project was implemented by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Fund in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Bishkek, which highlights its importance for cultural exchanges and preservation of the Turkic people’s heritage.
President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Fund Aktoty Raimkulova, Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliyev and representatives of the Kyrgyz ministry of culture and foreign affairs ministry participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Fund also announced publication of a collection of poems by Alykul Osmonov “Zamandan Zamanga” in the Kyrgyz and Azerbaijani languages translated by Adil Jamil. The publication became the first one in the Pearls of Turkic Literature series.
The new museum space is called to become an important cultural center promoting the development and popularization of Alykul Osmonov’s oeuvre both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
On November 6, Kyrgyz capital hosted the 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States on “Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future and Security for All,” which was attended by the leaders of five OTS member states – Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan, as well as Hungary, which holds the status of an observer country.
Taking the floor at the event, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, summarized the results of the country’s presidency in the OTS.
The summit ended with signing the resolution on adoption of the OTS Charter and another seven documents. Kyrgyzstan assumed the chairmanship in the Organization.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov proposed to set up a library of Turkic-speaking nations to preserve and to popularize the Organization’s common cultural heritage.
