ASTANA. November 4. KAZINFORM The volume of bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Turkey amounts to $4.5 billion, Turkish Ambassador to Kazakhstan Omer Tuzel said at the presentation of the book "Turkish Breakthrough" in Astana on Monday.

"Turkey was the first country to recognize Kazakhstan's independence in 1991 and the first country to open its diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan. The projects realized by the Turkish companies and businessmen who believed in Kazakhstan's future have made great contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's at the global, regional and national level," the envoy noted.

"Today, Turkish companies and entrepreneurs operate in all regions of Kazakhstan. The volume of bilateral trade - $4.5 billion and Turkish investments worth of $2 billion - demonstrate the unity between the two countries," Mr. Tuzel added.

The book was published with the support of the Turkish Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency and the National Export and Investment Agency Kaznex Invest.

It is dedicated to 13 companies that have made contributions to the development of Kazakhstan's economy and strengthening the friendship between the two nations.
