Ammonia leak prompts emergency alert

UST KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM The probes made at the shop floor of the Bolshenarymsky butter factory showed that ammonia leak exceeded 1,4 mg/cu m against permissible exposure level of 20 mg/ cu m, the East Kazakhstan Emergencies Department said.

Preliminary survey confirmed strong characteristic odor in air. All the staff members passed necessary medical and laboratory tests. No victims were reported.
