Amount of targeted social assistance in 2009 to be increased by 12%

ASTANA. January, 28. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ The amount of targeted social assistance has increased by 12% or KZT 3.8 bln this year. RK Minister of Labor and Social Protection Berdybek Saparbayev has informed of it today at the Board of the Ministry, Kazinform correspondent reports.

?KZT 3.8 bln are provided for targeted social assistance taking into account the targeted transfers of the national budget that is 12% higher against last year level?, B. Saparbayev said. ?About 500 thousand people from whom 246 thousand people are redundant employees and unemployed will be provided with social support at the expense of specified means?, the Minister noted. 244.1 thousand people received targeted social assistance in 2008 that is 8.3% higher against 2007.
