Annual Shattyk contest kicks off in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The VIII Astana city Shattyk contest will start on February 11. It gathers students of secondary schools, lyceums, technical and vocational educational establishments of Astana city as part of the National Delphic Games programme, the Astana city education department said.

Shattyk contest celebrates arts and unites children through culture. This year above 6 000 participants aged 10-15 and 16-20 will compete in 7 genres on 13 nominations each such as instrumental solo, instrumental ensemble, classics, folk instruments, choir singing, pop singing, folk singing, folk dance, modern dance, etc. 29 sets of medal are at stake. The winners of the contest will contend for the city Delphic Games 2014 awards.
