Another fact of mass death of saiga antelope reported in Kazakhstan
AKTOBE. KAZINFORM - May 18 Aktobe regional department of Internal Affairs reported about 68 saiga antelope carcasses found in the area of Irgiz Torgai State Nature Reserve.
There has been established a special commission to ascertain the cause of the mass death of the animals. Representatives of the regional territorial inspection of the Committee for Forestry and Fauna have arrived at the scene of the tragedy. The investigation of the rare saiga antelopes mass mortality is underway. As Kazinform previously reported, May 11 employees of Kostanay regional territorial inspection of forestry and wildlife under the Ministry of Agriculture found about 100 dead saiga antelopes in an area called Zholaba, Amangeldy district, Kostanay region. According to experts, as of today the number of dead saiga antelopes has exceeded 19,230.
