Anthrax in Karaganda region: Fourth patient tests negative

The fourth patient from Topar village of Karaganda region has tested negative for anthrax, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the local healthcare department.

Doctors say the patient will remain in the infectious diseases unit for a preventive treatment for five days.

As reported, three anthrax cases were confirmed by PCR tests in Topar village of Karaganda region. Another patient was admitted to the hospital later, and her diagnosis was unknown. As it turned out, all the infected people are members of one family. One is in a critical condition in ICU.
