Anthrax in Karaganda region: One patient dies

One of the patients hospitalized with anthrax in Karaganda region has died. The patient, born 1948, was placed yesterday in an intensive care unit, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the local healthcare department.

Health officials say the patient had a severe stage of anthrax, he sought medical assistance too late.

As for other two infected people, their condition is stable and they are under a constant monitoring of doctors.

As reported, three anthrax cases were confirmed by PCR tests in Topar village of Karaganda region. All the infected people are members of one family.  One more patient admitted to the hospital later, tested negative.
