ASTANA. November 20. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan citizens, who appear drunk or drinking alcohol in public places, will be facing a sentence of up to two months of arrest.

This has been stated today at a press conference by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Demeuov.

He aslo said, the penalty for disorderly conduct will increase from 5 to 200 MCI (monthly calculated index), and arrest from 10 days to 3 months.

According to him, this year to the Parliament will be submitted draft new editions of the four codes. They contain a number of stories involving tightening of administrative responsibility for offenses against public order and morality , and introduction of new types of punishments alternative to imprisonment.

In the draft of the new Criminal Code from the Code of Administrative Offences to the category of criminal offenses will be transferred several articles directly aimed at preventing crime in the streets and in public places. Approvals will be made more severe then.
