Archbishop of Canterbury invited to III Congress of Religions' Leaders
ASTANA. April 20. KAZINFORM On 16 April 2009 the Special Envoy of the Chairman of Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Secretariat, MP of the Senate of Kazakhstan Parliament, Kuanysh Aitakhanov held the meeting with Secretary for Inter Faith Relations to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Canon Guy Wilkinson and Bishop of Croydon, Nicholad Baines in Lambeth Palace; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Embassy in the UK.

Aitakhanov handed the official invitation from the Chairman to Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams to take part in III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions which will take place on 1-2 July, 2009 in Astana.
Canon Guy Wilkinson and Bishop Nicholas Baines expressed their gratitude for the invitation and informed that the delegation of the Church of England headed by Bishop Baines who represents Archbishop of Canterbury at the Congress would be attending the event.
The sides exchanged the views on intercultural and inter faith dialogue. Kazakhstan delegate highlighted the significance of having the Church of England representatives in the Congress and share their experience in promoting inter religious dialogue.
Next day Kuanysh Aitakhanov met with Chief Executive of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, Ruth Turner and handed her the invitation for the Congress addressed to Tony Blair.
