Argentina urges Israel to reach peace in Middle East

BUENOS AIRES. November 17. KAZINFORM Argentine President Cristina Fernandez met on Monday with her visiting Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres, urging him to reach peace in the Middle East to contribute to achieve a safer world, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

"For us the peace in the Middle East is a necessary peace, it becomes a fundamental issue to contribute to achieve a safer world," Fernandez said after the meeting.

    Fernandez said that Argentina will collaborate in what is possible at the peace process in the Middle East.

    "We are strongly convinced against the anti-Semitism and any racist and xenophobic manifestation," Fernandez added.

    Meanwhile, Peres said "the voice of Argentina is highly respected," adding that the support of Argentina to bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians "is of great value."

    During the meeting, the two presidents signed a number of agreements, including a deal on telecommunication cooperation to develop postal and telecommunication services, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
