Artyom Antropov lifts Kazakhstan to gold at World Weightlifting Championships
Kazakhstani Artyom Antropov clinched gold at the World Weightlifting Championships in Manama (Bahrain), reports Kazinform News Agency, citing Olympic.kz.
The weightlifter demonstrated the best result in the up to 102 kg weight category. In the snatch, Antropov lifted 170 kg. In the clean and jerk, he managed to lift 230 kg. In total, the Kazakhstani lifted 400 kg.
Silver went to Ibrahim Fares Elbakh (Qatar) with 399 kg (174+225kg). Marcos Ruiz Velasco from Spain was placed third with 395 kg (183+212), settling for bronze.
It is worth reminding that Kazakhstan now has earned three medals at the World Weightlifting Championships in Manama. Earlier, Alexey Churkin won silver in the weight category up to 81 kg, while Nurgissa Adiletuly (-96 kg) became the world champion in his weight class.
