As EXPO-2017 host, Kazakhstan can set the pattern for other CA countries: BIE Secretary General

ASTANA. August 1. KAZINFORM Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) Vincente Loscertales is satisfied with the preparations for the International specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" in Astana.

He held a press conference for mass media Thursday (August 1) to sum up the results of his working trip to Kazakhstan.

During the visit, the BIE head met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, Foreign Affairs Minister Erlan Idrissov, Environmental Protection Minister Nurlan Kapparov and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and national commissioner of the EXPO-2017 event Rapil Zhoshybayev. Vincente Loscertales stressed the main goal of the trip was to survey the preparatory works in the Kazakh capital. He looked through the working drafts of some parts of the registration dossier.

"This document has been well prepared. Everything is being done according to the schedule. I hope that EXPO-2017 will make Kazakhstan the center of innovations in the field of application of renewable energy. Thus, your country can serve as a model for the whole Central Asian region and other developing countries," he concluded.
