Asia Auto to produce four new models of KIA
ASTANA. March 30. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan's Car Assembly Plant "Asia Auto" has received official permission to produce four new models of KIA. "The first crossovers Sportage and Soul, Optima sedans and Cadenza have already gone off the assembly line of the enterprise," the Asia-Auto informed in a press release on March 18.
According to the head of the enterprise Yerzhan Mandiyev, due to the growing share of the plant at Kazakhstan market and the establishment of production of new models of KIA, Chevrolet and Skoda, sales volumes in 2011 will exceed the last year sales 2.2 times.
At the end of 2010, sales revenues more than doubled, reaching KZT 7,336.7 million (US$1=KZT 145). The Asia-Auto car assembly plant was established n 2003 and is the only current producer of passenger cars in the republic. Among the plant's partners are leading global concerns: Volkswagen Group, General Motors, Renault-Nissan-AutoVAZ and KIA Motors, the press service of the Kazakh MFA informs.
