Asian Games facilities energy supply discussed in Almaty

ALMATY. January 13. KAZINFORM The issues concerning energy supply were discussed yesterday at a special session in Almaty chaired by city Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov, the press service of the Mayor's office reported.

Heads of the municipal energy companies took part in the session.

Issues of uninterrupted provision of the city residents and Asian Games facilities with heating, gas and electricity were addressed there.

A.Yessimov noted that on the threshold of the Asian Games the city made all preparations for the forthcoming sports event. In particular, four modernized substations were put into operation within the Program of development and modernization of Almaty energy sector till 2015.

In last two years the Thermal Power Station - 1, "Orbita" boiler-house, the biggest heating mains M1 and M3 were reconstructed as well as the construction of a connective main Thermal Power Station-2 - Thermal Power Station-1 was completed. In March, 2010 Almaty Akimat and "KazTransGaz" JSC signed a memo aimed at reducing energy deficit in the city.
