Asian Games flag to be handed over to Organizing Committee of 2011 Asian Winter Games in Guangzhou

ALMATY. October 27. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ On November 12-13, in Guangzhou the Asian Games flag will be handed over to the members of the Organizing Committee of the Asian Winter Games 'Astana-Almaty 2011'. On the same day the city to host the next Games will be selected. Deputy Mayor of Almaty Serik Seidumanov has said it today in Almaty.

According to him Almaty is preparing to host the Games and the ceremonies that are to take place in the city.

As the experts of the Olympic Council of Asia said the sports facilities in Almaty were at a good degree of readiness despite the fact that many of them still were constructed. Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Timothy Fok congratulated people of Kazakhstan on their professionalism and noted that such preparedness should be awarded. 'All the facilities that have been constructed here will be a great contribution to world sport and your national sport', the Vice President said.
