Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to support Kazakhstan’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality
Deputy Prime Minister – National Economy Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlan Baibazarov met with the members of the delegation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) led by Vice President Konstantin Limitovskiy, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Government’s press service.
The sides discussed the current macroeconomic situation in Kazakhstan, efforts to improve the country’s investment climate, new programs and infrastructure and processing sector projects. The Kazakh Government’s initiatives aimed at modernizing and building transport, energy, water, and social infrastructure in Kazakhstan were given special priority.
Konstantin Limitovskiy said Kazakhstan as one of the AIIB founders played a significant role in its development. The AIIB is ready to contribute to the successful implementation of the National Development Plan of Kazakhstan and support Kazakhstan on its way to carbon neutrality by 2060.
Following the meeting, the National Economy Ministry and the AIIB signed a declaration of intention to jointly develop a three-year investment plan to define sectors, areas and projects for potential financing.
