Astana airport and railway stations operate in reinforced mode

According to the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Transport, the SCO Summit will see enhanced and round-the-clock work at the airport of Astana and train stations, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The ministry noted that departure of regular flights is scheduled. For the duration of the summit, additional operational staff and control room personnel have been engaged. Thus, more than 100 employees as well as volunteers proficient in foreign languages are involved. 
Furthermore, the potential for alternative airports in the cities of Almaty and Karaganda to accommodate air traffic is also considered.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it was noted that railway facilities in the capital are operating in normal mode, in line with the SCO framework.
To date, 23 routes with an average daily passenger flow of approximately 11,000 passengers per day operate from Astana-1 station.
The Nurly Zhol railway station offers 19 routes with an average daily passenger flow of 8,000 passengers per day. All stations are equipped with integrated security systems.
