Astana airport evacuated over fire scare, flight delayed

A terminal at the Astana International Airport has been evacuated after a smoke was reported earlier this morning, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Firefighting crews were called to the scene on Tuesday morning after alarms went off over smoke coming from a switchboard room in a walkway between the 1^st and the 2^nd terminals.

The fire that started at the switchboard was reportedly put out at 8:24 am.

Almost 20 flights have been delayed at the airport due to the fire emergency.
